The Ghost of J. W. Golucke
The haunted courthouse of Newton, Ga. - The 1906 Baker County Courthouse is one of 20 Georgia courthouses designed by J.W. Golucke. In 1907, Mr. Golucke was charged with alleged misappropriation of funds and sent to jail. He proclaimed his innocence but soon after died in the Baker County jail. Many believe he was falsely accused and that his ghost still haunts the courthouse today. This ghost legend is an infamous tale that all who visit Newton are sure to hear.
