There is never an admission charge to the concerts presented by the Union County Historical Society. The musicians donate their time and talents. Voluntary contributions to the maintenance fund are always welcomed and appreciated.

If there is a pioneer of shaped note music who deserves to be in our Hall of Shape Note Pioneers, contact the historical society at 706-745-5493.

Shape note music has been kept alive in Union County through the efforts of the Union County Singing Convention.  This is an organization that promotes shape note singing, helps arrange “singings,” and is heavily involved with the North Georgia School of Gospel Music which is held for two weeks every summer at Truitt-McConnell College in Cleveland, GA.  This school is available of every age group.  Students may choose between staying on campus or commuting.  Private voice and instruments lessons are also available.  Information will be available at the concert Friday evening concerning both the Union County Singing Convention and the North Georgia School of Gospel Music.
