Just

in the Historic Union County Court House
Native American pottery,
stone projectile points, spinning wheels, antique quilts, old
tools, early medical equipment, vintage clothing -- all are
remnants of Union County’s past, on display in our local
history museum at the Old Courthouse. The largest artifact in the
collection is the striking courthouse building itself, built in
1899 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in
1980.
The original clock and bell mechanism, salvaged when the tower was
removed in 1960, is exhibited on the Old Courthouse grounds. Local
history displays on the first floor of the building include a wide
array of educational, religious, occupational, domestic,
governmental, and military objects from the county’s
past.
The internationally renowned Margarita Morgan Miniature House
Collection is a special feature and a joy to behold. The intricate
structures are patterned after magnificent buildings and are
furnished with exquisite pieces by master craftsmen.
The museum is open to the public May through October (Monday
through Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm). Admission is $2 for adults,
$1 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for those under 6 years of
age.
